Aspire AZ3

The Aspire AZ3 is an all-in-one (AIO) that apart from gaming, can do everything you'd want it to. It's even got a built-in optical drive.

It's powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7-7700T backed up by 16GB of RAM and a 1TB hard-disk drive (HDD). And as it's an AIO, you get the added bonus of a display, in this case a 23.8-inch 1080p non-touch panel.

At $1,100, it's also well priced and Acer even throws in a mouse and keyboard. Open up the box, turn it on, and you are ready to roll.

Best value: Acer Aspire T

Aspire T

The Aspire T isn't much to look at, but if you're seeking a solid, great-value PC for the family, it's well worth it at $500.

You get a seventh-generation Core i5-7400 quad-core processor, 8GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 1TB HDD with an included keyboard and mouse.

It also has an optical drive, so it could easily double up as a home media server, and there's space inside to add more storage.

Best for light gaming and creative work: Acer Aspire Gaming Desktop

Aspire Gaming

The Aspire Gaming isn't Acer's most powerful desktop PC, but it's the one to choose if you're looking for a PC capable of gaming and creative work like video editing. For starters, it's in a regular-size PC tower, so you'll be able to add and upgrade in the future.

It's fairly stylish, too, lacking the outrageous designs gaming PCs often have. For $1,000, you get an Intel Core i7-7700, 8GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM, a 1TB HDD and an AMD RX 480 graphics card.

The RX 480 is capable of delivering VR, and even though it has a previous-generation card from AMD, it's no slouch.

If you're looking for a great all-rounder this is a solid buy.

Best for VR and high-end gaming: Acer Predator G3

Predator G3

Acer's Predator G3 looks pretty wild but one of the advantages to such a sizeable case is there's plenty of room inside for a killer gaming and VR PC. And for $1,440 you get a lot of gaming PC.

Inside the G3 you'll find an Intel Core i7-7700, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256GB solid-state drive (SSD), 1TB HDD and an 8GB NVIDIA GTX 1070 graphics card.

Acer also throws in a keyboard and mouse, but if you're looking for out of the box high-end VR, this is the one to get.
