Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 hits Xbox One backward compatibility

If you own a copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on Xbox 360, you can now dive back into the game on your Xbox One. Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, Director of Programming for Xbox Live, has announced that the 2011 shooter is now playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 built off of the foundation set by its previous two iterations, picking up where Modern Warfare 2 left off. The single-player campaign follows the hunt for a Russian terrorist as he ignites tensions with a series of attacks throughout Europe. The series' main attraction, its multiplayer, also returned with new game modes in tow, including a cooperative, wave-based survival mode.
