Updated February 28, 2019: Cyberpunk 2077 will be at E3 2019, so expect more details, gameplay, and possibly a release date then.

Today, CD Projekt RED shared the first details surrounding Cyberpunk 2077. Cyberpunk 2077 is an open world, first-person, narrative-driven role-playing game set in the universe of the classic Cyberpunk 2020 pen and paper game system.

The game features first-person shooting and cover mechanics to traverse a dangerous metropolis. Cyberpunk 2077 follows the story of "V", a hired gun on the rise in Night City, the most violent and deadly environment in a corporate-ruled future. According to the developer, a thorough character creator will allow players to choose V's gender, appearance, character class, as well as historical background. However, keep in mind that even these choices greatly affect gameplay so you have to be prepared.

With dozens of hours of main story quests, and many more of additional activities, there's always something to see and do in Night City. Players will experience all of it entirely through V's eyes, with an interactive dialogue system that gives them greater narrative agency. Returning in Cyberpunk 2077 is CD Projekt RED's hallmark of choices and consequences. As they make their way through the streets of Night City and its towering buildings, players will face difficult decisions that will ripple through the entire game. Lastly, the title will feature full-frontal nudity and numerous romance options.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be releasing on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 in the future. It's going to be enhanced for Xbox One X as well. It's unclear if the title is launching in 2019 or beyond. However, given the scope of the project, it seems like we have a long wait ahead of us. There is so much to discover about the game and we'll keep you posted along the way.
