Ghost Recon Wildlands going free to play this weekend for Xbox Live Gold members

Microsoft is gearing up to launch another free play weekend for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. This weekend, Gold members will be able to check out Ghost Recon Wildlands without paying a dime from October 12 through October 15.

Throughout the course of the free weekend, players can dive into everything the full game offers. That includes the missions available through the single-player mode, as well as co-op with up to four friends. Players can also jump into the new Ghost War 4v4 team deathmatch mode, which lets players choose among 12 classes and encourages stealthy scouting and squad-based gameplay.

As with previous free play weekends, the game will be available to buy at a discount in case you want to continue playing later. Ghost Recon Wildlands will be available at a 50 percent discount from October 12 through October 15 for everyone, while Gold subscribers will be able to take advantage of the discount through October 23.

If you want to try Wildlands out, you'll be able to jump in starting at 12:00 a.m. on October 12. For more, also check out our Ghost Recon Wildlands review.

Updated October 12, 2017: If Xbox isn't your thing and you're firmly in the "PC Master Race" camp, Wildlands is also up for grabs at a huge 75 percent discount for PC on Amazon right now. That brings the game's price down to just $14.99; not too shabby.
