Just Cause 4 screenshots surface ahead of debut [updated]

A few days ago, Steam suffered from a rather embarrassing situation where the company accidentally leaked Just Cause 4. Numerous gamers around the world saw a news post on the Steam client which prompted them to "pre-purchase" the title.

Updated June 10, 2018: Square Enix officially announced the game at Microsoft's E3 2018 conference.

Today, another similar situation took place with GamePro. The outlet posted screenshots of Just Cause 4 before it was even announced and Gematsu shared them with everyone. The images feature amazing visuals and plenty of destruction.

The Just Cause series consists of over-the-top third-person action games which revolve around destroying everything in your path. While the titles may not have the best stories, they're a lot of fun to play because the goal is to constantly blow up buildings and vehicles.

Just Cause 3 launched in 2015 and suffered from numerous problems on Xbox One. The loading times were horrendous and the frame rate barely hit 30 FPS on the console. Instead of improving the game, subsequent patches made it worse. It wasn't until Microsoft released the Xbox One X that gamers were able to play the game in a stable manner.

Hopefully Just Cause 4 will be Xbox One X Enhanced and avoid a lot of these problems. We'll keep you posted as soon as we know more about the project. Square Enix will probably announce the game at its briefing which takes places tomorrow.
