Prey's Mooncrash DLC gives you a new experience – and hazards – every time

Prey was one of the surprise hits of 2017, and Bethesda is now bolstering that experience with the game's first DLC. During its E3 2018 showcase, Bethesda and developer Arkane Studios announced several bits of DLC that are rolling out tonight, and even teased a new mode coming later this year.

In terms of what you can get your hands on now, you'll be able to play through three modes: story mode, new game plus, and survival mode. The real highlight here, however, is called Mooncrash, a survival experience that never plays the same way twice. According to Bethesda, Mooncrash will have new hazards, enemies, and loot on every playthrough.

As for the future, Prey is getting a taste of asymmetrical multiplayer at some point later this year. A future DLC pack will add a five-versus-one mode, which the team calls a "lethal game of hide-and-seek." Called Typhon Hunter, the mode lets one player go head-to-head with five others who get to play as mimics. And just like in the game, the mimic players can transform into harmless-looking objects in order to get the jump on the player they're hunting.

The Mooncrash DLC and new game plus will be available for download tonight. Typhon Hunter doesn't yet have a release date, but it is expected to arrive later this year.
